I´M FREE AGAIN

Ystad, South of Sweden

I have been prisoner in my own home for five days.

This is the coldest December in Sweden in 110 years

and I have never seen so deep and icy snow before.

The first plow stuck and broke down.

Today two new plows have been working all day

on our road (1100 meter down to the main road)

and finally it´s cleaned.

Of cause I had to drive down to the sea

with Miss Westie to feel the newfound freedom.

Next Tuesday are the trains projected to run

and I hope this winter will get back to normal.

There is still transport chaos here.

Heavy snowfall has caused massive problems

and snowdrifts are reaching two meters in hight in some parts.

We are still encouraged to stay home and off the roads.

Tracked vehicles are helping people in distress.

WHITE CHRISTMAS

My garden has turned into a winter wonderland

and the Christmas scene is arranged.

I love the white colour for Christmas

and I love white orchids.

Due to the current weather situation

is My World´s outdoor events restricted.

This orchid is placed on the windowsill.

The bright and white snow makes the background

and furthermore is this photo overexposed to convey the feeling

of my cold and isolated world just now.

CHRISTMAS IN TIVOLI

A VISIT TO TIVOLI IS A CHRISTMAS TRADITION

This week I visited Copenhagen and of cause

I had to pay a visit to Tivoli - an amusement parc in the

centre of the city and Denmark´s most popular tourist attraction.

Tivoli is one of the world´s oldest amusement parcs.

This parc gave Walt Disney the idea for his Disneyland.

The beautiful Chistmas lights have been designed by John Loring,

who also designed the Christmas lights on Parc Avenue in New York.

Tivoli is more than just amusements, good food and entertainment.

Tivoli is also fairy lights, flowers and above all, romance.

If you plan to visit Denmark

- don´t forget to visit this magic universe!

I wish I could see the sky,

but I can´t!

It´s snowstorm here again!!!

We are told to stay off the roads.

Meter-high snowdrifts make it impossible to drive here.

We have most snow in whole Sweden.

Normally, we shouldn´t have any snow at all now.

I love walking along the beach here.

You can walk and walk for ever...almost.

And you always find something new, that surprises you.

This pole in the water is covered with ice.

This sight triggered my fantasy...

Natten har enligt gammal tradition varit årets längsta natt...

och dessutom kallaste hittills i år.

Hoppas du steg upp tidigt idag och att natten varit lugn

och att du inte upplevt några obehagliga överraskningar.

Det var många faror som lurade, men man såg ingenting,

men ett vinande ljud, hästtramp och hundskall hördes.

She was an Italian saint, who we have adopted here in Sweden.

December 13, is the shortest day of the year.

and suddenly I heard some strange noises.

I just turned down the camera.

This photo could have been technical better,

but sometimes it´s more important to catch the moment.

The question is:

"What are they arguing about?"

I LOVE THE DIFFERENT SEASONS

Today Katarina wants us to choose a picture for each season.

It has always fascinated me that the earth experiences different seasons

because of the tilt of the earth on its axis

and because of the earth´s orbit around the sun.

I love taking photos of the seasons change.

My favorite harbour looked so different today.

Everything was white and clean.

It was really difficult to walk due to icy roads.

But I loved to be back!

The ice is shaped by rough storms.

In the silence of night I´m here again

looking into your empty face.

Frozen water reminds me of your eyes.

Your tears are frozen below the ice.

The nights are lonely without you.

I wait here...for the dawn to come...

MY SNOW WORLD...

HAS STOPPED SNOWING!!!

This early morning I looked out

through the kitchen window.

The white filter was gone!

I was able to see the sunrise

AND the orangerie - 100 meters away!

Ystad - Town centre

Finally we were able to drive into town.

Miss Westie was so happy.

Every corner had to be neatly investigated

and our walk never ended.

But it was not really safe.

Lots of snow and ice dams

on the roofs were a threat.

Snow is OK when it´s acting normally.

My garden is covered with snow.

More snow than ever before.

And so early in the year.

The landscape is beautiful

...but it causes lots of problems.

ICY ROADS

CAUSE PROBLEMS

"Momi...you promised me that

we should drive down to the sea

when our way was cleared from snow!!!"

The main road is icy and slick.

That causes lots of accidents and the police had to close

our road in order to rescue cars and trucks.

We will try again tomorrow!

MY NOSTALGIC ROOM

On the windowsill

This is my nostalgic room.

Why? Because of the curtains.

The one with flowers is from my

room as a little girl and the other one

is from my son´s nursery.

I have combined them as a memory

of childhood past-times.

. . . . .

Idag har Katarina - Roses and Stuff - bett oss visa

vad vi har på våra fönsterbrädor.

I det här fönstret har jag placerat pelargoner,

som har stått i växthuset och som jag för första

gången ska försöka få att överleva till nästa sommar.

Jag har alltid köpt nya varje år, så det här ska bli

jätte-spännande att testa.

Problemet är bara att någon måste vattna dem lite då och då...
